Spanco Telesystems is going to set up call centres for Indian Railways in India. Spanco has bagged to set up, maintain and operate call centres for Indian Railways for 10 years. The company will set up four regional call centres in northern, eastern, western and southern part of the county.

 

Spanco is planning to set this project by year 2007. According to Pradeep Kumar Goel, managing director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), Spanco will pay a license fee of INR 25 lakh in the first year. The company will tie up with BSNL to carry calls to call centres. The operational expenditure for running these call centres is approximately INR 30 crore per year and the company is expecting over 20 lakh calls per day. These call centres will allow passengers to dial one signle number at the cost of local call without using STD code to get various information on Indian Railway services.
