Malta, the tiny island in the Mediterranean Sea has invited Indian technology firms to set up near shore facilities to serve European and North African markets. Since Malta is member of European Union (EU), Malta has given preference to the development of ICT sector.  

 

According to George E. Sullivan, the managing director of Sullivan Mediterranean Group, Malta is ideal place for Indian IT and ITES firms to set up near shore facilities for serving their European and North African customers.  Malta Government is promoting the ICT sector and came in India to participate in the Bangalore IT event. Malta Government is offering a package of incentives and low interest loans to attract overseas investments. IBM and HP have already set shop in Malta and working on various projects of ICT. These projects include e-Learning facility, training and e-payment gateway.
