The State Government of Bangalore (India),  is planning to hold an IT investors meet in Belgaum in the end of November. Government is trying to attract IT companies to the tier-II city.

 

According to the M.N. Vidyashankar, Secretary, IT and BT, the large chunk of developed land is available with IT friendly infrastructure and connectivity. The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has appointed Ernst & Youn to study on the perforamance of Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) operating in the IT and ITES sector in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Bangalore IT has attracted 250 companies including 160 international forms like Texas Instruments, Xerox, WEP, Infosys, Cognizant, Reliance and Wipro in 2006. Trade delegations from Britain, Australia, Barcelona, New Zealand, Bavaria, China, Baltic, Taiwan and Germany also participated for the exposition.
