New Zealand performing well in achieving e-Government goals

Teresa Bozelli, US-based IDC managing director and public sector expert, says that New Zealand is well placed to achieve a seamlessly integrated, single point of access for publicly held information.

She made her comments during the Government Insights seminar held at the Duxton Hotel in Wellington. Bozelli said the aim of giving citizens a single, easily accessible and transparent information interface was still some way off around the globe, but cited Singapore and France as nations to watch. She said that while she did not have an in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand situation, she agreed that, like Singapore, the country's non-federal system would be an advantage in achieving its e-Government policies.
