Brunei's top Information and Communication Technology agencies from the government and private sectors are showcasing their best innovative products as they vie for top honours in the 2006 Brunei ICT Awards.
Their efforts are being presented at the Brunei ICT Awards 2006 Exhibition themed Strengthening ICT Industry through Local Development and Innovation, which began at the Rizqun International Hotel. Fifty-seven participants will compete in 13 categories including e-Government and service, education and training, health, security, industrial applications and finance applications. The winners of each category will represent the nation against 14 other member countries in the Asia-Pacific ICT competition. The Brunei element of the competition has been a platform for the promotion of the nation's ICT product developers. The exhibition is also aimed at promoting the ICT industry to the public as well as allowing agencies involved in ICT to become aware of other agencies' current and forthcoming projects.
