In the wake of the increasing number of cyber crimes in India, the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) has made a plan to set up three more cyber labs, complementing the existing two centre in Mumbai and Thane, to strengthen the investigation skills of enforcement agencies.

 

Nasscom is in talk with IT industry representative and the Indian Banks Association (IBA) for another centres in pune, Bangalore and Hyderabd respectively. In Hyderabd, Nasscom is in talk with State Bank of Hyderabd and Andhra Bank to set up centre in the place. These centres are aimed at providing to field level police officials who take up investigations of the cyber crimes. These centres are managed through a public private partnership (PPP) mode, supported by technology and banking industry players. Apart from creating necessary infrastructure in the country to tackle cyber crimes, Nasscom is in discussion with the government to fine-tune the IT Act, to make better legislations that are stringent. The association will shortly start a website-www.indiacyberlab.in- to create awareness among general public on cyber security.
