IBM has clinched a MoU with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to give impetus to e-Governance by providing quality training to IT students under an ambitious programme titled Project INVITE (Initiative to Nurture a Vibrant IT Ecosystem).

IBM will shortlist leading universities and IT institutions in the State and generate a student mass of 50,000, who would then be put into a training process. The student would be involved in creating prototype solutions for local e-Governance needs at various levels such as public grievances information system and civic bodies. This Project INVITE will take off from the next academic session. INVITE is aimed at actively contributing to capacity building efforts in identified Indian States by enhancing the local talent pool, which would make these states attractive for IT investments.
