The Government of Andhra Pradesh is going to introduce online screen-based spot trading platform for buying and selling of farm produce in all the 305 Agricultural Market Committees in the State.
The proposal was mooted by the National Spot Exchange for Agricultural Produce (NSEAP). Marketing Department is seriously examining the proposal under the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh (Agricultural Produce and Livestock) Markets Act, 2005. Problems faced by farmers such as poor accessibility to major markets to get better price is under scrutiny. The NSEAP is expecting to solve all these problems by creating a user group of APMC commission agents, farmers, banks, agriculture universities, fertiliser companies, seed manufacturers and Government procurement agencies.
