The ministry of Information and Communication Technology of government of Thailand is contemplating to bring forth internet service provider (ISP) protection laws.

The law seriously aims to block obscene websites. The ministry was able to block the majority of more than 3000 foreign websites displaying improper content and materials last year. This year too the ministry's goal was to counter as many of these web-sites as possible. Many of the Internet service providers have extended their cooperation in the government effort, but some have cited that there are no ISP protection laws, and that closing off web-sites may result in lawsuits. The ICT Ministry will discuss this matter further and make a decision on what law to bring forth to counter this.
